NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana voters began hitting the polls Saturday morning in a state that has become suddenly important in the race to choose Democratic and Republican presidential candidates.
Just four days after the Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses yielded no clear winners, Louisiana Democrats have a say in a neck-and-neck race for delegates between Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Republicans will choose between Arizona Sen. John McCain, considered the frontrunner, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Texas Rep. Ron Paul and a handful of others. The Bayou State offers 67 Democratic and 47 Republican delegates.
