Washington Heights home blends in with neighborhood
When you hope to build a home, it can take a lot of time to find the right lot.
For Marty Radocha and his wife, Trish Dulka, the search took six years because they wanted to build in Milwaukee’s Washington Heights neighborhood - an area with plenty of grand old homes but few empty lots.

The problem was solved when they found a 1914 Arts and Crafts-style house with an adjoining lot for sale just two blocks from where they lived. Although they only wanted the lot, they were forced to buy the house as well because the properties were sold as a package.
They closed the deal, quickly started making changes to the house and moved in. But before they were even settled, they broke ground on the adjoining lot.

Even though they had always lived in older homes and were building in an older neighborhood, they wanted a modern home. So Radocha, owner of T.R. Martin Builders in Milwaukee, designed the modern home of their dreams, keeping their neighborhood in mind. In his work he builds homes on small city lots in existing neighborhoods.
If you live in Milwaukee, take a look, buy a house, make them rich. Maybe I’ll get a commission.
