This Primary Season May Tear Apart the Democratic Party

Ever since the run up to the South Carolina primary I have heard a growing number of friends and family who support Obama declare that they will not vote for Sen. Clinton in the general election if she becomes the Democratic nominee.
(1) After her lost in the Iowa caucuses, Sen. Clinton began to call Obama “naive.” Naive is a loaded word for many African-Americans and conjures up some of the most negative racial stereotypes about the intellectual inferiority of blacks;
(2) Bill Clinton characterizes Obama’s early opposition to the Iraq war and his recent success as a “fairytale.” This was seen as dismissive and condescending;
(3) In South Carolina, Bill Clinton says that if Hillary doesn’t win it is because people are voting on the basis of race;
